The Press Club of Pakistan UK was formed in the end of 2004 as an informal organisation. A number of journalists from Pakistani community gathered in a restaurant on Wilmilslow Road, Manchester. Mr Majeed Qureshi (Late) chaired the meeting and Mahboob Elahi Butt welcomed the people. However, it could not develop till 2015; its members could not exceed from 5 or 6. However, in 2014 a few more members joined and strengthened the Press Club. We developed an ethos of non-political and non-religious organisation. A constitution was developed, approved and adopted in 2016. Mr Mahboob Elahi Butt was elected its first president for 2016-18; thereby the organisation actually started working with legal basis.
